While many cultural programs address the broader diaspora, our initiatives zero in on the specific, unbroken lineage of Maroon independence. We emphasize "Sovereignty First," teaching history from the perspective of an undefeated people who successfully fought for their own freedom and signed treaties.

Typical program activities
Expect vibrant sessions filled with Oral Storytelling Circles where elders share ancestral histories and folklore. Participate in Traditional Arts & Drumming workshops to learn specific Maroon rhythms, songs, and dances. Engage in Archival and Lineage Research to trace your family's roots, and join Interactive History Labs for critical discussions and multimedia presentations on Maroon resistance from Africa and the Caribbean to Canada.
