Welcome to the official home of the Toronto Maroon Heritage Association Inc. We are a community-driven organization dedicated to honoring the resilient spirit of Maroon ancestors. Through education, cultural events, and community engagement, we bridge the past with the present to inspire future generations.
Our origins and inspiration
The Toronto Maroon Heritage Association Inc. was inspired by the rich history of organizations dedicated to Maroon history and heritage in Ontario. These groups primarily focus on preserving, educating, and honoring the legacy of Trelawny Maroons who were exiled from Jamaica to Nova Scotia in 1796. Many of their descendants later migrated across Canada, including Toronto, shaping a unique and vital part of our nation's history. We are committed to continuing this vital work.
